Aesop's The Ant and the Grasshopper. A Conservative Version vs. a Liberal, Progressive Version

The Ant and the Grasshopper

(A bit too close to the truth to be comfortable)!

*CONSERVATIVE VERSION*:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,

building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

*LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE VERSION:*

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the
ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the ant should be warm and well fed while others are
cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a
table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper
is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody
cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton stage a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall over come." Jesse and Al then have the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Katie Couric that
the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call
for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing
to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to
pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary Clinton gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a
defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of
federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent
welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of
the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens
to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't
maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a
drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a
gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote!

Wow, another racist post on another conservative website. What a shame that our country is engulfed with ignorance such as this.

What is racist about this post? Do you have any specific complaints other than that it's on a conservative blog?

Is there something wrong with working for what you need? I suppose you can go through life just taking hand-outs from others, but will you feel good about yourself living like that? Living like a freeloader?

The point you missed is that others are not responsible for how you choose to live or behave. There's nothing wrong with helping the truly needy, but lazy people should be told to get off their asses and stop being a burdon on others. No one owes you!

I would hope you don't feel this way. If you do, then there is an island paradise just 90 miles south of Florida.

Just tell your Uncle, Comrade Fidel we say HI!

Cool story as for me. It would be great to read something more about this matter.
By the way look at the design I've made myself A level escorts

BlueCatUSA, what is racist about this? I finally understand what anonymous means, so let me show you.

See, if the story is in any way truthful and yet harms the lazy liberal or the rich liberal trying to get richer off the middle class while saying they are helping the poor, then that's their definition of racism.

In other words, one of the worst things you can do is call someone racist, therefore when you make sense, they are going to shout out that you're a racist in order to put you on the defensive all while they conveniently change the subject from the point that affects us all.

One more in other words, the idiot poster doesn't have a valid comeback so he/she decided to call you racist.

That's such an ignorant thing to imply, though. That everyone who's poor is poor because it's their fault for being lazy, and we don't have a system where clearly the rich ARE getting richer and richer while everyone else's incomes stagnate while facing raising loan and inflation rates.

Everyone in this country has equal opportunity to do great things with their lives or to wait for a government hand out.

It is true some really do need help but we have generation after generation living off the government and liberals love it. Its their voting base, more people they can get dependent on government and be self sufficient the better it is for the liberals.

and the only race bating going on is always on the left. if you say one dam thing about how you disagree with Obama its always cause we are racists. I was against Clinton to, hes white if you haven't noticed. but i didn't see liberal running around then saying we disagreed cause he's white.

Note: ever hear of conservative voter fraud? ya me neither

I meant not self sufficient

Communist Version:

The grasshopper and the ant spread class conciousness to the proletarian bugs and they work to overcome mothernature by working together to gather food and all of them share the fruits of their labor with all the other working class bugs, instead of getting caught up in party politics.

Do you ants feel good about yourself watching the grasshopper starve when you could help?

There's nothing wrong with hard work, but I don't think laziness should carry a death penalty. I guess you disagree.

By extension, you ought to believe charity is evil. Do you?

I live in a small CONSERVATIVE town in middle Missouri and plenty of REPUBLICANS have got their hand out milking the system. talk about HYPOCRITES!

Ants are social creatures, they represent socialism, not conservatism. Another way the right distorts the truth! Sounds like more spin from "Faux News Corp"! Jesus IS a socialist and the right will be damned when he returns. 'That which you do unto my brother, you do unto me!---JESUS
