Mourning in America

We have a clear choice come November 2, 2010.

Say what you will about President George W. Bush, but when he was our leader I never felt the sense of despair that I see now in America.

There is a quote that sort of sums it up for me:

“Despair is the price one pays for setting oneself an impossible aim” -Graham Greene, English novelist, playwright and journalist (1904-1991)

Vuvuzela - South African culture - The death of the World Cup

I'm just a casual fan of soccer (or futboll as they call it in Spain) so the World cup is of mild interest to me.

I've only tuned in to a few matches so far and let me tell you, this vuvu thing is the most annoying crap I think I've ever heard since Disco! It makes the matches impossible to watch or listen to. I kinda like the Spanish guy who yells "Goooooooaaaallll" when there's a score but no way can I stand this vuvu shit.

Sorry South Africa, but this is ruining your day to shine in the world spotlight. Please do something about it!

D-Day + Sixty Six Years...

The Battle of Normandy was fought during World War II in the summer of 1944, between the Allied nations and German forces occupying Western Europe. More than 60 years later, the Normandy Invasion, or D-Day, remains the largest seaborne invasion in history, involving nearly three million troops crossing the English Channel from England to Normandy in occupied France.

Twelve Allied nations provided fighting units that participated in the invasion, including Australia, Canada, Belgium, France, Czechoslovakia, Greece, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Operation Overlord was the codename for the Allied invasion of northwest Europe. The assault phase, or the establishment of a secure foothold, was known as Operation Neptune. Operation Neptune began on D-Day (June 1, 1944) and ended on June 30, when the Allies had established a firm foothold in Normandy. Operation Overlord also began on D-Day, and continued until Allied forces crossed the River Seine on August 19.

With the invasion of Normandy, General Dwight D. Eisenhower faced a task of magnitude and hazards never before attempted. He would have to move his forces 100 miles across the English Channel and storm a heavily fortified coastline. His enemy was the weapon-and-tank-superior German army commanded by Erwin Rommel, one of the most brilliant generals of the war. Less than 15 percent of the Allied forces coming aboard the ships had ever seen combat.

An invading army had not crossed the unpredictable and dangerous English Channel since 1688. Once the massive Allied force set out, there was no turning back. The Allies boasted a 5,000-vessel armada that stretched as far as the eye could see, transporting both men and vehicles across the channel to the French beaches. In addition, the Allies had 4,000 smaller landing craft and more than 11,000 aircraft.

By nightfall on June 6, more than 9,000 Allied soldiers were dead or wounded, but more than 100,000 had made it ashore and secured French coastal villages. Within weeks, supplies were being unloaded at Utah and Omaha beachheads at the rate of more than 20,000 tons per day. By June 11, more than 326,000 troops, 55,000 vehicles, and 105,000 tons of supplies had been landed on the beaches. By June 30, the Allies had established a firm foothold in Normandy. Allied forces crossed the River Seine on August 19.

Military Intelligence was an important part of the Normandy invasion. British and American cryptographers working in London deciphered coded messages that the German believed to be unbreakable. Messages could quite often be delivered to Eisenhower within two and a half hours of the time the Germans had sent it. In addition, reconnaissance teams took infrared pictures of Omaha Beach while avoiding German patrols.

There is no official casualty figure for D-Day. It is estimated that more than 425,000 Allied and German troops were killed, wounded, or went missing during the battle. That figure includes more than 209,000 Allied casualties. In addition to roughly 200,000 German troops killed or wounded, the Allies also captured 200,000 soldiers. Captured Germans were sent to American prisoner-of-war camps at the rate of 30,000 per month, from D-Day until Christmas 1944. Between 15,000 and 20,000 French civilians were killed during the battle.

In the end, the invasion of Normandy succeeded in its objective by sheer force of numbers. By July 1944, some one million Allied troops, mostly American, British, and Canadian, were entrenched in Normandy. During the great invasion, the Allies assembled nearly three million men and stored 16 million tons of arms, munitions, and supplies in Britain.

The occupation of Normandy was crucial for the Western Allies to bring the war to the western border of Germany. If the Normandy invasion had not occurred, there could conceivably have been a complete possession of northern and western Europe by Soviet forces.

White House Press Corpse...this doesn't surprise me at all.

Now it's out for all to see. Helen Thomas is an anti-Semite of the worst kind.

How can she report historic events from the White House when she obviously has forgotten the Holocaust?

What's wrong with this picture?

Is this how Baracky and Mickey salute the flag? With their "left hands" over nothing?

Not surprising to me at all. Two dyed in the wool socialistas showing their true contempt for our flag, not to mention our country.

As any American knows, we place our right hand over our heart when we recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

And for anyone who thinks this may be a "mirror-image" picture, please note the wedding rings on the ring fingers of their LEFT HANDS and the RIGHT side of the "Messiah's" suit coat where the buttons are.

It's sickening.

SEIU as Astroturf - Protesters say, "Give up the bucks!"

What? Are you frickin' kidding me? More taxes?

These folks are loons. Especially the lady who says "I don't make enough to pay more".

I feel a bit sick now. And they have the audacity to call the Teabag people nuts

President Obama, aka "Walking Eagle".

President BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation in upstate Oregon shortly before the 2008 elections. He spoke for almost an hour about his plans for increasing every Native American’s present standard of living. He referred to his time as a U.S. Senator and how he had voted for every Native American issue that came to the floor of the Senate. Although President Obama was vague about the details of his plans, he seemed most enthusiastic and spoke eloquently about his ideas for helping his “red sisters and brothers.”

At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented Obama with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name,
“Walking Eagle” The proud President then departed in his motorcade to a fundraiser, waving to the crowds. A news reporter later asked the group of chiefs how they came to select the new name they had given to the President. They explained that “Walking Eagle” is the name given to a bird so full of shit it can no longer fly.

Obama Uses Teleprompters During Speech To 6th Graders (Good Grief!)

I don't think he's smarter than a 6th grader!

Are you kidding me? Is this "our" President? A guy who can't speak to school children with out the prompter? And look at that set up in the classroom. It looks like he is giving a campaign speech.

If I didn't think so before, I sure as hell do now. This guy is way out of his league.

Do us all a favor Mr. President, go back to community organizing. I think you can handle that without a script.

Coakley's Downfall...Hillarious!

Funny as hell (and a great editing job!).

As of 9:45 pm tonight, The Boston Herald, AP, CNN and Fox News have all projected Scott Brown as the winner of the US Senate race in Massachusetts.

As usual, The Boston Globe will probably wait until next week to report the results.

Dieses geschieht an unserem Haus diese letzte Woche… mit Lulu die Katze!

Mein Deutsch ist nicht gut. Ich erlerne!

24: Mark your calenders for January 17, 2009

It's that time again. Jack is Back.

Sad for me that this is slated to be the final season, but wait, the producers of "24" are working on a full length feature film due out?

I guess I'll just have to wait and see...stay tuned!

Before you take Al Gore's Climate Change BS as Gospel, please take note of these statements.

If you believe all the crap about global warming, or climate change, or whatever they're calling it these days please keep the following predictions from 20 to 40 years ago in mind:

“Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist.

“We are prospecting for the very last of our resources and using up the nonrenewable things many times faster than we are finding new ones.” • Martin Litton, Sierra Club director

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
.
“Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.” • Sen. Gaylord Nelson

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
.
“We have about five more years at the outside to do something.” • Kenneth Watt, ecologist

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” • George Wald, Harvard Biologist

“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.” • Barry Commoner, Washington University biologist

“Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” • New York Times editorial, the day after the first Earth Day

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
.
“By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.” • Denis Hayes, chief organizer for Earth Day

“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” • Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University

“Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….” • Life Magazine, January 1970

“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
.
Some of the most "learned" minds in academia made these quotes in the recent past.
.
Has even one of their predictions come true?
.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't do what we can to make the Earth a cleaner place, no one wants to live in a shithole. But to foist upon us this most damnable lie of all time is sham science at the very least and what would be considered to be a felony offense if done by one of us.
.
I don't know how Al Gore can look into a mirror everyday. After all, doesn't he have a house you can see from outer space? A home that uses as much energy in a year that could light up a mid-sized town? Where is his responsibility? Why isn't he leading by example? In this day and age of technology, why is it appropriate for Gore to go jetting all over the world to spread his lies? Can he not do it all on-line?
.
No I guess not. That would cut into all his fat speaking fees now wouldn't it?

Are you sick of it yet? If not, just keep voting Democrat.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too peace-loving to own a gun. I know that if we all disarm and work for justice then oppressed peoples won't be pushed into crime and my local cops can focus on community organizing, bake sales and parades.

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my dog.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they are doing because they now think we are good people.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will snow on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius and pay carbon use taxes.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the murder of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits that they've never had to pay into.

I voted Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.
